Brooklyn Brunch

I have a friend in town this weekend and Mike had a paintball game to go to so while he was off shooting things (boys…) I headed over to Brooklyn!

I’ve worked in the city for four years now and I think I’ve been to Brooklyn once.

Today I learned just all that I was missing by never making the trip over the bridge!

The more we walked around, the more I fell in love.

And then…we found the Heights Cafe.

Oh.

My.

Goodness.

From the moment we sat down I was in heaven.

And then our food came and I was just completely speechless (shh – it still counts even if you’re only speechless because you’re too busy stuffing your face).

This waffle was literally the best Belgian waffle I’ve ever tasted.

If you’re even in the area, seek out this place. Β It’s SO worth it.

And you can feel good about consuming massive amounts of food because you can always walk the bridge right back into Manhattan πŸ™‚

  1. Sounds like a great day with great eats! I need to make a trip to New York!

  2. Love that waffle! I’m actually a fan of Brooklyn- I grew up there for part of my childhood (not sure if I’ve ever mentioned that!), and that’s where my family’s from.. If I moved back to NYC, though, it would definitely be Manhattan, where I was for grad school.

    • Really!? That’s so funny! I definitely did not know that. I just loved what an escape from Manhattan Brooklyn felt like. It just felt a little more residential, a little more manageable and there were so many TREES! Haha. I do love parts of the city as well though πŸ™‚

  3. Sounds so much fun! And looks so good πŸ™‚

  4. Looks like a great way to spend the weekend! Literally drooling over that waffle. Belgian waffles are 1000 x tastier than ‘regular’ – in my humble opinion πŸ™‚

  5. Mmmm this looks amazing! I love new restaurant finds!

  6. We are bringing the boys to NY for the week before Christmas (it’s the only thing they wanted for Christmas) and I can’t wait to show them places like this especially the freezing Brooklyn Bridge…definitely need coffee in hand on that day. Looks like a delicious breakfast!

  7. What a great day. That waffle looks amazing. I keep telling my husband we need to plan a trip to NY before our baby comes in May. πŸ™‚

  8. Gorgeous! I can count the amount of times I’ve been to Brooklyn on one hand. It’s sad, manhattan gets all the love but the other boroughs are great too.

  9. I really miss NYC a lot. It’s just 2 months since I walked these streets myself. Amazing city, could never get tired of it πŸ™‚
